The Perils of Fieldwork

Fieldwork.. doesn’t always go to plan!
This morning I had an inkling something was different.. a lingering trace of ‘the countryside’ hung in the air but Office Dog and I continued on our walk through the dew-jewelled grass around the field edges, both sniffing tentatively.
We reached the furthest point and started to head back when Office Dog changed tack, raced off, nose to the ground and then threw herself to the ground, rolling and wriggling joyously. She was exceeding pleased to find the evidence we both suspected was lying nearby!
So there are some learning points here from our ‘fieldwork’:
1. If instinct tells you that something is different, it probably is.
2. If common sense tells you this might not be a good time to explore a situation, it’s probably correct.
3. And if your Office Dog is overly eager to help, you’re probably going to wish you never invited her!
